Ben Peters Arrested for Allegedly Blocking Entrance to Aurora Apartments

Businessman Detained After Disrupting Access to Kanda Apartments

by Amelia Crawford

A Nigerian businessman, Ben Peters, has been arrested for allegedly blocking the entrance to Aurora Apartments in Kanda, a location just 800 meters from the Jubilee House.

Peters was detained on Monday following a coordinated effort by National Security operatives, police, and military personnel.

Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, confirmed the arrest during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program. He explained that the authorities were alerted by a distress call reporting that Peters had seized control of the apartment complex’s entrance with around 40 armed men, effectively trapping residents inside.

Gbande further revealed that although the group was dressed like National Security personnel, they were not affiliated with any official security body. He noted that reinforcements were required after Peters allegedly threatened to shoot anyone who attempted to approach the area.

The investigation into the incident continues, with authorities working to determine the motive behind the blockage.
