Belagavi District Police arrested a man on charges of murdering a 47-year-old farmer from Baloga village in Khanapur taluk. The accused, Basappa Hosatti, a resident of Beedi village, allegedly bludgeoned Shivangouda Patil to death with a stone on Wednesday.
After committing the crime, Hosatti fled to Kalaburagi to evade arrest. However, following a detailed investigation, Belagavi police were able to trace him and take him into custody. Further details regarding the motive behind the murder are still under investigation.
