Bashir Ahmed Ganie Held With Charas in Budgam

The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of contraband in the Chadoora area.

According to police, a team from Police Station Chadoora intercepted a suspicious individual in Repora village, who was carrying a polythene bag. Upon being stopped and searched, 307 grams of a charas-like substance wrapped in corn husk was recovered.

The accused has been identified as Bashir Ahmed Ganie, son of Ghulam Qadir Ganie, and a resident of Wagam, Chadoora.

A police spokesperson confirmed, “A case under FIR No. 133/2025 has been registered under relevant sections of law, and an investigation is currently underway.”

This action is part of the ongoing efforts by J&K Police to combat the drug menace in the region.
