In a crackdown on human trafficking, the RGI Airport police on Thursday arrested two individuals involved in illegally sending women to Gulf countries using forged documents.
The arrested accused are Chilukuri Balaji (43) and Sunkara Shiva Kumar (30), both residents of Andhra Pradesh. According to ACP Shamshabad Srikanth Goud, the two were part of a larger trafficking network that bypassed legal emigration channels.
Instead of routing migrant women through the Protector of Emigrants, the gang sent them on tourist visas, manipulating documents and charging large sums of money. The racket was exposed after a woman victim filed a complaint, prompting the police to investigate.
While Balaji and Shiva Kumar have been taken into custody, the two main conspirators — Satyanarayana and Anji — are currently absconding. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to track down the remaining accused.
