In a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into a fraudulent online trading scheme, Badarpur Police successfully arrested Rajdeep Deb, a prime accused, from Tripura. The arrest took place at a house in Dharmanagar, with the assistance of Churaibari Police.
Rajdeep Deb, a resident of BSF Camp Road in Sribhumi, had been evading arrest ever since the capture of another key suspect, Shakir, who was apprehended in Kolkata’s Bakhrashal area. Despite weeks of dodging law enforcement, Deb was finally tracked down following a tip-off received by the Sribhumi Police.
Sources revealed that Deb had been living a lavish lifestyle, funded by money obtained from defrauding individuals through online trading schemes. He had reportedly promised high returns to investors but vanished after collecting significant sums.
“Since Shakir’s arrest, Deb had been on the run, frequently changing locations to avoid being caught. However, our successful joint operation with Churaibari Police led to his arrest in Dharmanagar,” said an official from Badarpur Police Station.
Deb has now been brought to Badarpur Police Station for further interrogation, and authorities are hopeful that his arrest will provide vital information that could lead to more arrests and shed light on the larger network behind the scam. Victims of the fraudulent online trading scheme are hopeful that this arrest will pave the way for justice and the recovery of scammed funds.
The investigation remains active, with law enforcement agencies working diligently to bring all perpetrators to justice and recover the defrauded money.
