The Cybercrime Police of Hyderabad have arrested a 32-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, B Nagaraju, for impersonating the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and soliciting financial help from industrialists and entrepreneurs.

Nagaraju, a former state-level cricketer from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, allegedly created a fake email ID under the name of the CM’s OSD and sent fraudulent emails and messages to prominent businessmen. His intention was to extract money under the pretense of official financial needs.

Police said he is a repeat offender, involved in 13 similar cases in Telangana and 16 in Andhra Pradesh. A non-bailable warrant is also pending against him. Authorities launched a probe after a formal complaint was filed by the actual OSD to the CM.

Cybercrime officials confirmed that Nagaraju has been arrested and produced before the court. Further investigation is underway to uncover potential accomplices and the extent of financial fraud committed.
