Pipraich Police on Monday arrested three accused in connection with the theft of gold jewellery and cash worth lakhs reported in the area on August 2.
Under the directives of SSP Raj Karan Nayyar and supervision of SP North, a joint team including Pipraich Police, Anti-Theft Cell, Surveillance Team, and ITMS apprehended Ayaz Ahmad (alias Babu), Irfan (alias Munna), and Shamsher (alias Mama).
During the operation, police recovered 11 gold rings, 2 gold necklaces, 2 gold chains, a pendant, 7 pairs of silver anklets, 6 pairs of silver toe rings, and a scooter. The recovered items are valued at approximately Rs 11 lakh, along with Rs 50,000 cash.
According to SSP Nayyar, the theft occurred while the victim was away at work and the house was unattended. The accused broke a window to enter and looted gold, silver, and cash.
Police officials also stated that Irfan and Shamsher have extensive criminal records, including multiple cases of theft, robbery, and offences under the UP Gangsters Act.
