Pipraich, Uttar Pradesh — In a swift breakthrough, three men were arrested on Monday in connection with the theft of gold and cash worth Rs11 lakh from a residence in the Pipraich area on August 2.
Acting on instructions from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayyar and under the supervision of the SP North, a joint team from the Pipraich police, anti-theft cell, surveillance unit, and ITMS apprehended the accused:
Ayaz Ahmad alias Babu
Irfan alias Munna
Shamsher alias Mama
During the arrest, police recovered a large cache of stolen items, including:
11 gold rings
2 gold necklaces
2 gold chains
1 pendant
7 pairs of silver anklets
6 pairs of silver toe rings
A scooter
Rs50,000 in cash
The stolen valuables were collectively estimated to be worth Rs11 lakh.
According to SSP Nayyar, the theft occurred while the homeowner was at work and the house was unattended. The suspects gained entry by breaking a window, looted jewellery and cash, and fled the scene.
Further investigations revealed that both Irfan and Shamsher have extensive criminal records, including multiple charges of theft, robbery, and violations under the UP Gangsters Act.
The police team was commended for their coordinated efforts in apprehending the suspects and recovering the stolen items promptly. Authorities are now probing the trio’s involvement in other unsolved burglary cases in the region.
