HULL, IOWA — A 32-year-old Lake Park man, Austin James Vanden Brink, was arrested around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, on serious drug-related charges, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

Vanden Brink faces charges of:

Manufacturing, delivering, or possessing with intent to deliver a controlled substance — amphetamine

First-offense prohibited act — prescription drug

The arrest stemmed from a tip that Vanden Brink was attempting to illegally sell prescription medication. Deputies later stopped a vehicle in Hull, where Vanden Brink was a passenger.

During the stop, officers found a prescription pill bottle with its label removed, containing 20 pills of ADHD medication later identified as amphetamine, a controlled substance under Iowa law.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and more charges could follow depending on the outcome of lab testing and interviews.
