AURORA, CO – A 45-year-old woman and her 24-year-old son have been arrested for murder following the fatal shooting of the woman’s boyfriend on Friday night.
Authorities identified the suspects as Laneidra Williams-Whitehead and Jamir Williams, both of Aurora. According to the Aurora Police Department (APD), officers responded to a 17100 block of East Adriatic Drive at around 10:15 p.m. after a neighbor reported a commotion and discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but he passed away on Saturday morning. Investigators determined that Williams-Whitehead and her boyfriend had been involved in a domestic dispute earlier that evening. Later, her son, Jamir Williams, allegedly arrived and shot the victim with a handgun.
Both suspects were arrested Saturday night and are currently in custody on murder charges. The 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will review the case before formal charges are filed.
The victim’s identity will be released after his family has been notified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
