Augusta University Student-Athlete Arrested for Felony Theft

Lauren Marie Posa faces charges after allegedly stealing a $3,000 necklace

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Augusta University student-athlete Lauren Marie Posa, a member of the AU Volleyball team, was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on felony theft charges.

According to the arrest warrant, Posa allegedly took a gold necklace valued at nearly $3,000 from its owner on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, around 1 p.m. at Augusta University’s Christenberry Fieldhouse on the Forest Hills Campus.

The warrant was officially filed on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 10:05 a.m., and Posa reportedly turned herself in to AU Police.

Augusta University released a statement confirming the arrest and said the school is fully cooperating with the Augusta University Police Department and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
