by Sophia Bennett

MORRISTOWN, Vt. – A 21-year-old Lyndon woman, Audrey Roessler, has been arrested for allegedly stealing mail containing checks worth thousands of dollars, according to local law enforcement.

The Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department and Morristown Police Department said Roessler was responsible for taking both opened and unopened mail, including numerous checks. Authorities described the volume of stolen mail as “innumerable,” though they did not specify the total value of the checks involved.

Roessler has been cited on charges of fraud and larceny and is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Court next month. She is also expected to appear in Franklin County Court in August on related charges.

Authorities have not confirmed whether others were involved or if more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
