Athens Man James Kirby Jr. Arrested for Drug Trafficking

50-year-old charged after meth seizure in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — An Athens man was arrested Monday on drug trafficking charges.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported that the Narcotics Unit took 50-year-old James Kirby Jr. into custody on December 15 following an investigation into his alleged drug activities.

Authorities determined that Kirby was in possession of roughly one-quarter pound of methamphetamine. He is currently being held at the Limestone County Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.
