The Aslali police in Ahmedabad have successfully solved a robbery case, recovering 100% of the stolen goods, including a mobile phone, cash, and the weapon used in the crime. The accused, involved in an auto-rickshaw theft, has been arrested.

The incident took place on January 20, between 7 and 8 pm, when three unidentified men and a woman boarded a CNG rickshaw near Hariom Industrial Park, Dasoji in Pirana. The attackers then assaulted the driver, injuring him with a sharp-edged knife on his back, shoulder, and left leg, before fleeing with the rickshaw.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Aslali police station, and a special team was formed to identify and track the suspects using a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence.

On March 31, acting on a tip-off, the police successfully apprehended one of the suspects, Praveenbhai Bajania (20), a labourer. They recovered the stolen items, including a mobile phone worth ₹5,000, ₹2,050 in cash, and the red knife used in the crime.

Praveenbhai’s accomplices, Dashrathbhai Salat (19), a resident of Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Ashok Pani (24), and Leelaben (wife of Dashrathbhai Salat), are still at large. All four individuals have a history of criminal activity, with multiple cases registered against them in Kanbha, Odhav, and Nikol, including theft, burglary, and robbery.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing their search for the remaining suspects.
