BATON ROUGE — A Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet employee has been arrested after allegedly stealing an elderly patient’s bank cards and using them for personal purchases, according to arrest records obtained by WBRZ.
Authorities say Asia Carr, 25, took the cards while working her shift at Baton Rouge General. She reportedly used them to make a $347.22 purchase at Walmart and attempted two more transactions — one at Walmart and another at Fashion Nova — totaling $723.33.
Investigators said the victim’s son, who was caring for his mother at the hospital, noticed her cards had been moved from their usual place into her phone case. Shortly afterward, he received a call from the bank alerting him to suspicious charges.
Carr was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of attempted theft, exploitation of the infirm, and access device fraud.
