Ashton Lee Parker Arrested After Shooting During Illegal Dice Game

Pearl man faces attempted murder charge in shooting incident

A man has been arrested in Pearl after allegedly shooting another individual in the head during an illegal dice game. The incident occurred Saturday night at the George Kersh Apartments, where Pearl Police responded to reports of the shooting.

According to Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon, the victim, a 23-year-old male, was shot by Ashton Lee Parker of Brandon. The victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.

Parker was arrested on Monday without incident and now faces charges of attempted murder. He is currently being held at the Rankin County Detention Center without bond, pending his initial court appearance before Judge Richard Redfern.

The Pearl Police Department reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of the community, vowing to use all available resources to ensure that those responsible for violent acts are brought to justice.
