THOMASVILLE, NC — On May 12, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed individual on Wright Road in Thomasville. Upon arrival, deputies were informed that Ashley Nicole Helton had allegedly stolen firearms and fled into the woods behind the residence.
Despite an initial search, deputies were unable to locate Helton at the time. Evidence was collected, and a subsequent investigation led to charges being filed.
A magistrate issued an arrest warrant for Helton, citing probable cause for the following charges:
Two counts of felony larceny of a firearm
Two counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm
Felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle with theft
On May 20, 2025, Helton was located and arrested. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served with the outstanding warrant. Additionally, she was charged with misdemeanor resisting a public officer, for which the magistrate also found probable cause.
Because Helton was already out on pre-trial release, she was held without bond. Her first court appearance was scheduled for May 21, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
