
CROSBY COUNTY, Texas — A former Crosby County deputy, Ashley Martinez, 35, was arrested Monday morning and booked into the Crosby County Jail on charges stemming from her time employed by the county.
According to the Crosby County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into Martinez’s conduct was handed over to the Texas Rangers, resulting in a criminal charge. Martinez is accused of Theft of Services valued between $750 and $2,500, a misdemeanor under Texas law.
The arrest was carried out through joint efforts between the Crosby County and Hockley County Sheriff’s Offices.
In a public statement on social media, the Crosby County Sheriff’s Office emphasized accountability, stating, “No one is above the law in Crosby County.”
Officials reminded the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
