ROCK, WV – A Mercer County woman is facing domestic violence charges after a physical altercation with her husband was reportedly captured on video early Monday morning.
Deputies J.P. Conner and W.C. Morrow of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call in the Rock area at approximately 12:25 a.m. on June 9, 2025. Russel Fessel told deputies that his wife, Ashley Lowe, had physically assaulted him during an ongoing argument and provided video evidence of the incident.
According to deputies, the footage showed Lowe yelling at Fessel and asking if he wanted to fight before striking him in the face multiple times with a closed fist. A red mark was observed on Fessel’s right cheek, though he declined medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the couple’s two young children were not harmed and remained in Fessel’s custody following the incident.
Lowe denied any physical aggression on Fessel’s part but was arrested on charges of domestic battery and domestic assault. She was processed at the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office before being transported to Southern Regional Jail.
