Marco Cheek, 56, of Asheboro, was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop on February 21 in Carthage, North Carolina, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies stopped Cheek in the 8800 block of Highway 24/27, near White Oak Road, where detectives conducted a search of his vehicle. During the search, they discovered a significant amount of illegal substances, including 206.2 grams of cocaine, 39 dosage units of Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and $2,000 in U.S. currency.
Cheek now faces a number of serious charges, including:
Trafficking in cocaine by possession and transport
Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
Felony possession of cocaine
Possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance
Maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances
Simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Cheek was placed under a secured bond of $75,000 at the Moore County Detention Center. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and Cheek will appear in court to face the charges against him.
