DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MICH. — A Detroit man is facing multiple felony charges after a double shooting on Sunday morning in Dearborn Heights that left two people injured, including his former girlfriend.
Ashante Linelli-Ramon McAfee, 48, was charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office with 13 felony counts, including:
2 counts of Assault with Intent to Murder
2 counts of Felonious Assault
Discharge in or at a Building Causing Serious Injury

According to a press release from Prosecutor Kym Worthy, McAfee is the former boyfriend of one of the victims, a 39-year-old Dearborn Heights woman.
The shooting occurred around 10:32 a.m. on the 4100 block of Weddel Street. Police arrived to find a 41-year-old man from Ecorse with a gunshot wound to the knee down the street from the residence—he had called 911. Inside the home, the female victim was found in a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds to her thigh, knee, chest, and hand.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect fled the scene in a white Ford F-150, but an investigation by Dearborn Heights Police led to McAfee’s arrest later that day.
McAfee was arraigned in 20th District Court, where his bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety and he was ordered to wear a GPS tether if released. A probable cause conference is scheduled for May 28.
