In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Nakodar police have arrested Asha Rani, a resident of Shankar village, for possession of six grams of heroin. A case has been registered against her under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In related action, police apprehended two other suspected drug peddlers:
Kewal, a resident of Mohalla Kamalpura, was arrested with 45 intoxicating tablets in his possession.
Sanju Takiar, from Mohalla Takiaran in Nurmahal, was caught with 19 intoxicating tablets by the Nurmahal police.
All three have been charged under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine if the accused are part of a larger network.
