UTICA, N.Y. — Arturo William, the driver of an SUV that crashed into the T-Mobile store on Mohawk Street in Utica, was arrested early Monday morning. Police responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m. and noted that William was showing clear signs of impairment.
After refusing a field sobriety test, William was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated (DWI) along with additional traffic violations. When officers arrived, the vehicle was still running, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The crash left the store’s front window shattered, but there is no word yet on when the T-Mobile store will be able to reopen.
