The Columbus Division of Police has arrested 41-year-old Arthur “Mark” Cahoon in connection with the murder of 37-year-old William “Joey” Woods. The arrest follows a coroner’s ruling that Woods’ death was a homicide.

According to police, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of May 27. Officers were dispatched just before 1:35 a.m. to the 2000 block of Ottis Court after a report of an unresponsive individual. Responding officers provided lifesaving aid until Columbus Fire personnel arrived and transported Woods, who was critically injured, to a nearby hospital.

Following the coroner’s determination of homicide, Columbus SWAT apprehended Cahoon and charged him with murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
