BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department have secured an arrest warrant in connection with the fatal shooting of Christon Thorn on February 3, 2025.
The suspect, 18-year-old David Hunter of Birmingham, has been identified in the case. Hunter is currently in police custody at UAB Hospital.
On February 5, 2025, Birmingham Police Homicide detectives presented the case details to the Jefferson County Magistrate’s Office. As a result, a murder warrant was issued for Hunter, who is being held on a no-bond warrant. The investigation is ongoing.
