by Sophia Bennett

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A dramatic burglary at McLaren Beverly Hills led to the arrest of Julian Flake, who has been charged with multiple felony offenses following the break-in on March 1.

The break-in, which occurred around 9:45 p.m. at McLaren’s W. Olympic Boulevard location, saw the suspect break into the showroom, open a case containing vehicle keys, and then drive one vehicle through the glass wall of the showroom. Flake parked the vehicle before re-entering the store and stealing another car. Authorities say he sustained lacerations while committing the crime.

According to Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) Lieutenant Kevin Orth, officers responded to the scene after receiving a radio call. The suspect managed to evade authorities initially, but the next day, officers were alerted to a suspicious individual in the area. This person was later identified as Flake, who was arrested by BHPD officers.

Flake, who also has pending charges from a separate incident in Pomona, is facing charges including felony second-degree commercial burglary, two counts of felony grand theft of an automobile, and felony vandalism for causing over $400 in property damage.

McLaren Beverly Hills, known for its luxury sports cars, has vehicles listed for prices between $145,990 for a pre-owned GT Coupe to $436,130 for a 2024 750S Coupe.

Flake’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 19 at the Los Angeles Superior Court Airport Courthouse for a preliminary hearing.
