CROSS COUNTY, AR – A former Arkansas sheriff’s deputy, Dillon Kemp, 26, was arrested on Friday and charged with two felony counts of second-degree sexual assault, according to Arkansas State Police (ASP).
Investigation & Arrest
ASP launched an investigation into Kemp after a tip was submitted to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The case was then passed to Cross County Sheriff David West’s office, as Kemp was an employee of the department at the time.
Authorities determined that Kemp had sexually assaulted two juvenile girls in previous years. ASP did not disclose the ages of the victims but confirmed they were minors.
Employment Termination & Charges
Following his arrest, Kemp was booked into the Cross County Jail, and Sheriff West immediately fired him from the sheriff’s office.
The investigation remains ongoing, and Kemp could face additional charges as authorities continue gathering evidence.
