Seven adults and a juvenile were arrested on weapons charges in Wethersfield following a noise complaint, police said.
The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Arianna Marshall, 20-year-old Ronin Hoffman, 19-year-old Giovanni Padilla, 18-year-old Deja Padilla, 18-year-old Shalyce Peeples, 19-year-old Khalil Lavoix, and 18-year-old Xavier Padilla. The juvenile’s identity was withheld due to age.
Authorities responded to 55 Lancaster Rd. around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday after reports of loud noise and possible marijuana use. Upon arrival, officers saw the group speaking loudly and smoking, prompting them to flee the scene.
All suspects were later detained. A resident informed police that one individual had hidden an object under a chair cushion outside their door. Upon investigation, officers discovered two firearms.
The suspects were charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine, conspiracy charges, simple trespass, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with police. Additionally, Khalil Lavoix was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, while Xavier Padilla faced an extra charge of possession of a controlled substance.
All adults were held on bond and transported to New Britain Superior Court for arraignment. The juvenile was released to a guardian.
