Areaj Khan, Kalam Khan Arrested in Assam Theft Case

E-rickshaw, stolen mobile tower unit recovered

In a coordinated operation, Dispur Police intercepted an e-rickshaw (AS01 TC 1438) based on specific intelligence regarding a theft case. Two alleged culprits, Areaj Khan (28) of Hohabul Bridge, Barpeta, and Kalam Khan (36) of Karuwaapara, Barpeta, were apprehended during the operation.

Police recovered a Remote Radio Unit (RRU) from a mobile tower in their possession, allegedly linked to the theft. Authorities confirmed that both accused are under further investigation.

In a separate development, Basistha Police recovered a stolen Activa scooty (AS01-FF-5716) at Ganeshnagar near the Assam–Meghalaya border on January 13. Following due verification, the two-wheeler was returned to its rightful owner.

Police continue to investigate the cases to trace any additional accomplices and prevent similar thefts in the region.
