Archana Salvi Arrested for Rs 3.57 Cr Theft in Mumbai

Domestic help stole jewellery from 93-year-old woman

Mumbai Police have apprehended a domestic worker, Archana Salvi, for allegedly stealing jewellery and diamonds valued at Rs 3.57 crore from the Marine Drive residence of a 93-year-old woman, according to PTI.

The accused, a resident of Kalyan, had been employed temporarily at the Bharti Bhuvan building, where the theft reportedly took place between April 27 and July 26 this year. The crime came to light when the elderly woman’s son, based in Dubai, visited her and discovered the valuables missing.

Authorities had been monitoring Salvi and traced multiple financial transactions totaling several lakhs in her accounts, leading to her arrest, PTI reported.
