Ranipet: Arakkonam Town police arrested two men on Sunday (February 1, 2026) for stealing two-wheelers across Vellore, Ranipet, and Tiruvannamalai districts.
The accused were identified as:
K. Parameshwaran (28) – native of Vellore
S. Karthik (37) – resident of Thiruninravur near Avadi
Police said initial investigations revealed that the duo targeted crowded public places and temple festivals to steal two-wheelers without attracting attention. Parameshwaran, who had worked as a helper at a mechanic workshop, reportedly repaired stolen bikes or removed their spare parts before resale.
Authorities have recovered several stolen two-wheelers and continue to investigate their network and possible buyers.
