Antonio Thompson Arrested for Domestic Battery and Interfering with 911 Call

Waterman, IL — A 34-year-old Waterman man, Antonio T. Thompson, was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attacking his girlfriend and preventing her from calling the police. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Garfield Street in Waterman.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson struck his girlfriend and twice strangled her during the altercation. Investigators report that Thompson also took the victim’s phone when she attempted to call 911 for help.

Thompson was arrested and now faces several charges, including domestic battery, aggravated battery, and unlawful interference with reporting domestic battery.

He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore.

The case highlights the serious issue of domestic violence and the need for victims to have the support and safety to report such incidents. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to work toward ensuring the safety of the victim.
