EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) – Antonio Rodriguez, 47, was arrested on Sunday night in connection to a fatal hit-and-run incident in Central El Paso. Rodriguez is accused of intentionally running over a man during an altercation.
According to the El Paso Police Department, the incident occurred on the 700 block of N. Piedras. Police say that Rodriguez and his passenger got into a dispute while Rodriguez was behind the wheel. After the altercation, Rodriguez allegedly climbed out of the vehicle, and in a shocking turn, ran over the victim—who is described as a man in his 20s, though his identity has yet to be released.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with murder. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
