A Kansas man with a history of murder charges was sentenced to two life sentences on Thursday for the 2018 killings of two Wyandotte County sheriff’s deputies.

2015: Fielder was tried twice for the murder of Kelsey Ewonus, but both trials ended in a hung jury, leading to the charges being dropped.
December 2017: He fatally shot Rosemarie Harmon, 55, in Kansas City, Missouri, and wounded her friend.
Ballistics linked his gun to a carjacking earlier that month.
2018 Courthouse Murders
June 2018: While being transported between the courthouse and jail, Fielder overpowered and shot Wyandotte County Deputies Theresa King, 44, and Patrick Rohrer, 35.
Rohrer died at the scene; King succumbed to her injuries the next day.
Fielder was already facing murder and carjacking charges at the time.
