Anthony Manning, Misty Hayes arrested after pickup chase

Stolen truck rams police cruiser in Keene, NH incident

by Amelia Crawford

KEENE, N.H. — Two suspects were arrested Tuesday afternoon after a stolen pickup truck rammed a Keene Police cruiser during an attempted stop, officials said.

Police were initially dispatched to 89 Marlboro Street following reports of suspicious activity. Officers spotted a silver Toyota Tacoma leaving the scene with occupants matching the description. Misty Hayes, 47, of Manchester, was driving and Anthony Manning, 36, of Brentwood, was the passenger. The vehicle was confirmed stolen.

When officers tried to detain the pair at the dead-end of Marlboro Street, they did not comply. Manning then moved to the driver’s seat and rammed a police cruiser in an attempt to escape, but the effort failed.

Manning fled on foot into nearby woods along Route 101. After a brief chase, officers apprehended him. Hayes was also taken into custody at the scene.

Manning faces charges including criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, habitual offender violations, resisting arrest, drug possession, disobeying an officer, and receiving stolen license plates. Hayes is charged with receiving stolen property (pickup and license plate), operating after suspension, and driving without a valid license.

The Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department assisted Keene Police. Both suspects remain held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections.
