BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – A Branford man accused of brutally killing his 12-year-old son has pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempted murder.

Anthony A. Esposito, 52, was arrested earlier this month after allegedly beating his son, Anthony P. Esposito, to death with a baseball bat. During police interrogation, Esposito reportedly stated that he would have killed his 16-year-old daughter as well if he had been able to reach her.

The disturbing case has shocked the local community. Esposito remains in custody and is scheduled to appear back in court in July.
