CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) – A significant drug bust in Grady County has resulted in one arrest and the search for another suspect after nearly 2,000 grams of illegal substances were seized from a Cairo residence.
On May 2, the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announced the seizure of approximately:
433 grams of cocaine
120 grams of ecstasy
Three pounds of marijuana
80 grams of a drug-laced edible known as “cornbread”
In total, officials confiscated roughly 1,993.78 grams of various controlled substances.
68-year-old Annie Horton was arrested at the residence on 7th Avenue, where the drugs were discovered. Her 44-year-old son, Bryant Lakeith Horton, fled the scene and is currently being sought by law enforcement. Authorities note that Bryant Horton was already out on bond from a previous drug-related arrest.
Both individuals face serious charges, including:
Trafficking in cocaine
Trafficking in illicit drugs
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
Obstruction of law enforcement
The Georgia State Patrol assisted GCSO in the operation. Law enforcement urges anyone with information on Bryant Lakeith Horton’s whereabouts to contact local authorities.
