NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — A 46-year-old woman, Annattali Lavender, was arrested for multiple offenses linked to a mailbox theft and attempted check fraud in Hermitage dating back to October 2023.

According to an arrest affidavit, Lavender stole a wedding card containing $200 and a check worth $60 from a mailbox on Barnwell Court on October 18, 2023. Shortly after, the homeowner received a call from Wilson Bank & Trust questioning a $2,000 check written to Lavender.

The original check, meant for Hudguns Disposal Inc., had been altered to increase the amount to $2,000 and was fraudulently made out to Annattali Lavender. The bank rejected the transaction.

Detectives identified Lavender through bank security footage and her driver’s license used during the attempted transaction. She was arrested on June 23, 2025.

Lavender now faces six charges related to the incident, including mail theft, merchandise and property theft, and forgery.
