Angelina Esty Arrested Again in Drugging and Robbery Scheme
25-year-old Pompano Beach woman faces new grand theft charges in Brickell burglary
MIAMI (WSVN) – Angelina Chenel Esty, a 25-year-old woman from Pompano Beach with a history of similar crimes, has been arrested again for allegedly drugging and robbing a man of luxury items and cash in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood.
According to Miami police, Esty turned herself in on Wednesday in connection to a burglary that occurred on August 9 at an apartment on Brickell Bay Drive.
Investigators say Esty and another woman met the victim and a friend at Blackbird Ordinary bar before accompanying them back to the apartment. The next morning, the victim discovered his $20,000 Rolex, $4,000 in cash, and a replica Rolex belonging to his friend were missing. Additionally, an unauthorized $500 Cash App charge was discovered.
The victim reported having little memory of the night and believes he was drugged. Surveillance footage from the bar helped police identify Esty, and the victim later confirmed her identity in a photo lineup.
Police described Esty as a “known offender” with prior arrests for similar thefts across Miami-Dade County, involving high-end venues like E11EVEN nightclub, Fontainebleau Hotel, and other nightlife hotspots.
Authorities believe Esty is part of a recurring scheme targeting men wearing luxury watches and frequenting tourist-heavy nightlife districts. The pattern typically involves gaining trust in social settings, gaining access to hotel rooms or apartments, and then drugging victims before stealing valuables.
Esty has been charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft between $20,000 and $100,000. She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
