Angel Holland, Aaron Stalling Charged in Severe Child Abuse Case

Couple Faces Felonious Assault, Endangering Children in Cincinnati

by Amelia Crawford

CINCINNATI — Angel Holland and her live-in boyfriend, Aaron Stalling, have been arrested and charged with three counts each of felonious assault and endangering children following an investigation into severe child abuse.

The couple is accused of torturing and cruelly abusing three young children, including a 9-year-old boy left fighting for his life, according to court records. Holland, identified as the boy’s custodian since 2020, and Stalling allegedly inflicted serious physical harm on the boy and his 6- and 8-year-old siblings on September 13.

Due to the severity of the charges, Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Josh Berkowitz set bonds at $600,000 each without the option for a 10% payment. If released, they must stay away from the children and remain on house arrest with electronic monitoring. The case is set for grand jury indictment on October 3.

Elmwood Place police responded to a 911 call on September 13 reporting a juvenile not breathing at a home on Helen Street. The call, made by Stalling, calmly described the boy’s labored breathing and lack of response. Emergency responders found the boy unresponsive and in cardiac arrest but managed to resuscitate him at the scene before rushing him to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Hospital staff discovered the boy weighed only 30 pounds and suffered from severe malnutrition and hypothermia, with a core body temperature below 80 degrees. Court documents reveal Holland admitted the child had complained of a stomachache days prior but that no medical care was sought following a recent fall. She claimed to be preoccupied with another child on the day of the incident.

When informed of the boy’s critical state, Stalling reportedly stated, “We feed him.” Further medical examination confirmed the boy’s severe malnourishment and signs of physical abuse. His siblings were also found malnourished and required hospitalization.

Police obtained a search warrant for the home, uncovering evidence including bungee cords, a belt, and soiled towels in a vehicle registered to Holland.

Following the arrest, Holland’s daughter was removed from her care by court order and placed under the Hamilton County Department of Job & Family Services, with Holland granted supervised visitation.

Neighbors expressed shock and sadness, noting the family appeared to have regular food deliveries. Many voiced hope for a better future for the children.

Officer Michael Beasley, who witnessed the rescue, expressed a desire for the siblings to remain together in a loving, supportive family environment. “They need real love, real support, a real family dinner, Christmas. Like, they need it all,” he said.
