
VERONA, NY — A Verona man, Andrew J. Helmer, has been arrested and faces multiple charges following a domestic violence incident that allegedly took place in the presence of three children.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Road Patrol Deputies responded to a call on Saturday, August 30, regarding a physical domestic disturbance. The case was immediately turned over to the Domestic Violence Unit for further investigation.
Authorities say the investigation revealed that Helmer allegedly pointed a long gun at the victim and choked her until she lost consciousness. At the time of the incident, three minors were present.
Helmer has been charged with the following:
Strangulation
Criminal possession of a weapon
Endangering the welfare of a child
