CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. — The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced the arrest of 65-year-old Andrew Jacob Crabtree of Moffat following a multi-agency investigation into illegal drug trafficking in the county.
On Monday, September 15, members of the regional Joint Operations Unit, including CCSO and the Salida Police Department, apprehended Crabtree after a lengthy investigation. The probe also involved support from the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
During the investigation, officers seized 118 fentanyl pills and 59.13 grams (over 2 ounces) of methamphetamine from Crabtree.
Crabtree was booked into Chaffee County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond and faces two felony charges:
Unlawful distribution of fentanyl (Class 2 drug felony)
Unlawful distribution of methamphetamine (Class 2 drug felony)
Sheriff Andy Rohrich emphasized the county’s commitment to fighting illegal drug distribution. “We will help those struggling with addiction, but we have zero tolerance for those pushing dangerous drugs that contribute to crime, violence, overdoses, and mental health issues,” he said.
The investigation remains ongoing as local agencies continue efforts to protect the community from drug-related harm.
