Hopkinsville Man Arrested with Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia During Traffic Stop

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A traffic stop on June 2 in Christian County led to the arrest of 39-year-old Andrew Classen of Cadiz after deputies found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

Deputies initiated the stop near the Dyno Mart on Greenville Road after noticing the vehicle was being driven without a front windshield and had a broken passenger-side brake light. Additionally, a license plate check revealed issues with insurance verification.

Classen, who admitted to being on parole, consented to a search. Officers discovered suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a cut straw — items consistent with drug use. Authorities also confirmed Classen lacked valid insurance and a registration receipt for the vehicle.

He was taken into custody without incident and faces charges including possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a windshield, failure to maintain insurance (second offense), broken brake lights, and no registration receipt.

Classen remains in the Christian County Jail awaiting further proceedings.
