HANAHAN, S.C. — A South Carolina dance instructor, Andrea Mizell, has been arrested on multiple felony charges after an investigation revealed serious allegations involving minors at her studio.
Mizell, 45, faces the following charges:
4 counts of second-degree assault and battery
4 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor
3 counts of disseminating harmful material to minors
Police began investigating in March after parents raised concerns about a dance routine they said “conflicted with their morals.” When officers responded to a report of an argument at the studio on March 12, several parents expressed discomfort over Mizell’s conduct and behavior with students.
According to court documents and a police report obtained by Fox News Digital, students told investigators that Mizell:
Provided them with alcohol, including margaritas at her apartment
Had vulgar conversations, including details about her sex life
Showed sexually explicit photos of herself
Touched students inappropriately, including their buttocks
Changed clothes in front of students, exposing herself
One student claimed the inappropriate touching happened multiple times during practice and that Mizell would “go out of her way” to do it.
When Mizell was scheduled to meet with one concerned parent, she reportedly fled the scene after seeing multiple parents present, later telling police she felt intimidated.
The investigation remains ongoing. Fox News Digital has reached out to Mizell for comment, but no response has been reported.
