Andre Jones Arrested in Waterville with $30K Worth of Crack and Fentanyl

New York man charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs

WATERVILLE, Maine (WGME) — A New York man was arrested in Waterville after police discovered he was in possession of nearly $30,000 worth of drugs, including crack cocaine and fentanyl.

Andre Jones, 36, of Bronx, New York, was arrested following a yearlong investigation into drug trafficking in Maine. Police learned that Jones had been bringing illegal substances into the state and was set to return on February 6 with a large quantity of drugs.

Upon locating Jones in Waterville, authorities seized nearly 300 grams of crack cocaine and almost 30 grams of fentanyl. The street value of the drugs was estimated at $30,000.

Jones was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs. He was taken to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, where his bail was set at $25,000 cash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
