Amber Michelle Williams, 35, of Jonesboro, has been arrested on felony charges related to theft and fraudulent activity from a local business. On January 29, Williams was taken into custody for Theft of $25,000 or More, a Class B felony, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, a Class C felony.

The investigation by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Williams had been employed as a financial controller at BP Fabrications LLC from January 12, 2021, to October 2, 2024. During her employment, Williams allegedly used her access to the company’s checking accounts and credit cards to make unauthorized transactions.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Williams issued checks to herself and her personal business, amounting to more than $25,000. In addition, she used company credit cards to pay for personal expenses, including Verizon bills, AirBNB rentals, tires for her personal vehicle, and rent payments. The total value of these transactions exceeded $39,999.

The investigation led to the issuance of search warrants for Williams’ bank accounts, which confirmed the theft. On January 27, Circuit Judge Scott Ellington signed an arrest warrant for Williams, and she was subsequently arrested.

During her probable cause hearing on January 29, Williams’ attorney, Bill Stanley, argued for a $10,000 bond, citing her status as the wife of a Jonesboro Police Department officer. The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Bryce Cook, initially requested a $25,000 bond with a GPS ankle monitor but later agreed to the $10,000 bond, which was set by Judge Tommy Fowler.

Williams faces serious charges, and her next court appearance is pending.
