In a major crackdown on illegal immigration, Ambegaon Police arrested two Bangladeshi women and a man for allegedly producing forged Indian identity documents.
The accused have been identified as Leeza Maqbool Sheikh alias Taslima, Rinki Devi alias Khatun Tamina Maqbool Moral, and Pramod Kumar Chaudhary from Nalanda, Bihar. They face multiple charges including forgery and illegal entry into India.
Senior Inspector Sharad Zine of Ambegaon Police Station said, “Taslima had been residing in Ambegaon Khurd, Pune. Intelligence inputs and passport department alerts showed her frequent travels to Bangladesh. When traced, it was found she had shifted to Ambegaon Budruk. Our team raided her residence based on a tip-off.”
During the raid, Taslima was found living with her sister and brother-in-law. Both women initially claimed Indian citizenship, presenting Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and Indian passports. However, police recovered a Bangladeshi passport belonging to Taslima, exposing their false identities.
Further investigations confirmed both women are Bangladeshi nationals. It was revealed that Rinki Devi alias Khatun Tamina was married to Pramod Kumar Chaudhary, who allegedly helped them obtain forged Indian IDs.
All three suspects are in custody, and an FIR has been registered at Ambegaon Police Station. Authorities continue to probe the larger network behind the forgery and illegal immigration racket.
