Mohkampura Police have successfully arrested two burglars, Aman Datt (alias Lucky) and Vicky, in connection with a burglary at the house of Davinder Kumar, an ex-serviceman and cancer patient. The theft occurred on April 24, while Kumar and his wife, Sunita, were away at the hospital for medical treatment.

According to Jasroop Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), the stolen goods included Rs4 lakh in cash, gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs, idols, and a scooter (registration number Punjab-02-DK-9395) used in the crime.

The accused were identified as Aman Datt, a resident of Shiv Avenue on Batala road, and Vicky, from the New Pawan Nagar area. Aman was employed as a cable operator in the area. The ADCP explained that Aman knew the couple lived alone, and with that knowledge, he and Vicky planned the burglary while the victims were away.

When Davinder Kumar returned home, he discovered that cash and valuables were missing from his wardrobe. Following the complaint, the police scrutinized CCTV footage and successfully identified the suspects. Although the two accused do not have any previous criminal record, they were arrested and are currently in police remand.

The police have recovered the stolen cash, jewelry, and other items. Further investigations are underway.
