The Pahadishareef police arrested 27-year-old Allam Shiva, a habitual offender from Mahbubnagar, for his involvement in a series of house burglaries across the Rachakonda and Hyberabad police commissionerates.
He was caught on Thursday at Shalibanda while attempting to sell stolen items, which included 13 tolas of gold, 41 tolas of silver ornaments, Rs50,000 in cash, and two motorcycles, collectively valued at around Rs20 lakh.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a farmer from Harshaguda, who reported a burglary at his residence on May 23. During the investigation, police identified Shiva as the suspect.
Officials revealed that Shiva is addicted to ganja, alcohol, and online betting, and had resumed criminal activity
Authorities said he targeted locked houses in rural areas, using the proceeds from theft to support his addictions. Further investigation is underway to determine his involvement in other unsolved burglary cases in the region.
