CEBU CITY, Philippines — Authorities arrested a 64-year-old man known as alias “Sindak” during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, on Saturday, September 6.
The suspect, a jobless resident of Sitio Sto. Rosario, was apprehended around 3:42 p.m. by operatives from the PDEA 7 Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), alongside the PNP Drug Enforcement Group/Special Operations Unit 7 and the Labangon Police Station.
Officials confiscated four packs of suspected shabu weighing about 50 grams, with an estimated market value of ₱340,000, along with buy-bust money. These items were submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for further analysis.
The arrest follows a six-month investigation confirming that “Sindak” had been distributing 40 to 50 grams of shabu weekly in the area. PDEA-7 also noted the suspect’s long history of drug-related offenses, having been previously arrested in 1990, 1998, and 2012. He served multiple sentences and was released on a plea bargain in 2018 before allegedly returning to the drug trade.
The suspect is now detained at the PDEA–7 temporary facility, awaiting formal charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
